Family Dharma Service and Pet Memorial Service
Pet Memorial Service - Please bring a photo of your beloved pet(s) who have passed away, to be placed on the Onaijin for the memorial. Be sure to label the back of your photo(s), which can be picked up after service. Any remaining photographs will be held in the Office for safe-keeping until December 15th.

Special Saturday Service - Hoonko & 125th Anniversary service
Special Hoonko and 125th Anniversary Service with special guest speaker Rev. Kusunoki from the Seattle Betsuin. This will be a special program designed for our 125th Anniversary. Don’t forget, our 125th Anniversary Banquet later in the evening with doors opening at 5:00 PM.
The Saturday service is in lieu of Sunday Dharma service. There is no service on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

On the first Sunday of every month, we observe a special memorial service known as Shotsuki Hoyo. This service is dedicated as a time to remember and express gratitude for our family members and friends who have passed away during the month of the year in which the service is held.

Monthly class that focuses on the reading of Tannisho, a two-part work representing a compilation of teachings by Shinran. At each session, parts of Tannisho will be discussed with commentary from scholars. Class is conducted in Japanese.

ANNUAL MEETING OF CHURCH MEMBERS
All church members are invited to attend the Buddhist Church of Sacramento’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 10:15 am in the Main Hondo. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet members of the Board of Trustees, receive an overview of the state of the temple, and have an opportunity to sign up for a variety of committees in support of the temple and its activities.

On October 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM, in partnership with Ikeibi Film Company, we’re thrilled to host a screening of KINTSUKUROI, a full-feature film written and directed by Bay Area’s own Kerwin Berk.

Like every immigrant family, the Itos came to the United States to build a better life. After years of struggle and sacrifice, the dream that was America seemed within their grasp.
Then the world changed forever …
With a stroke of his pen, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 and effectively destroyed the lives of 120,000 Japanese Americans at the onset of WWII.
KINTSUKUROI follows members of the Ito family from their pre-war life in San Francisco’s Japantown to the concentration camps of the American West to the battlefields of Europe as they struggle to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.
The film features Ryan Takemiya, Kealani Kitaura, Ken Takeda, Ron Munekawa, Kiyomi Koide and Chizu Omori.
