As the Buddhist Church of Sacramento established itself as the second-oldest Shin Buddhist temple in North America in 1899, another feat took place across the country. Auto industry pioneer Alexander Winton made headlines driving his one-cylinder car from Cleveland to New York City in 47 hours – a record in 1899!
The temple and the car have come a long way. So, let’s celebrate!
